How bad do you want it?
If you are a young baller and your dream is to become a professional basketball player, well, then you should read this edition of #motivationalmonday.
The first question is of course how bad do you really want it? What are you willing to sacrifice in order to become a professional baller?
I can tell you, there will be many things you will be willing to sacrifice. Think about it, every time you are finding excuses and you are not practicing because “you are tired” or because “your friends are all going out to party”, there are millions of young talents working their butts off around the World and getting better than you. Every single practice or every gym day you skip is a missed opportunity for being successful.
When I see the young ballers here in Germany, I see a lot more talent than in Slovenia for example. They are bigger, stronger and more athletic. However, why is a country like Slovenia, which counts so many people as the city of Munich, so successful in sports? You want to know why? Well, they practice more, a lot more! As a 16 year old young baller I was having 2 practices a day every day for example. I still managed to have good grades in school and in the end became a professional basketballer. Moreover, as Kevin Durant says: “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work.”
This doesn't mean you have to be an NBA player? No, just work as hard as you can, for being the best player you can be.
So go out and work your butt off. Work on your shot, your technique and your body. Get better every single day. Beat the player you were yesterday and chase the player you want to be tomorrow. Set high goals and once you achieve them, set new higher ones.
